Cutting Off Precious Time To Study Marie Biology

For whatever bad parenting decisions we were making, we allowed the children to watch TV. A lot of TV. A whole lot of TV. Specifically cartoons. Now my kids weren't glued to the tube at all hours of the day mesmerized by the glowing ambient light emitting from the 27 inch babysitter. They would want to go out and play, or end up playing during the show in their room. Both my wife and I felt bad about the amount of TV they were watching. Sure they've learned quite a bit of stuff from the cartoons. My daughter can be a Marine Biologist from all the SpongeBob she's watched. But with the weather finally clearing up, time in front of the TV needed to be moderated. As well as the arguing about whose turn it is to watch their cartoon. Fights, arguments, and fits would erupt if one of the kids didn't get to watch something when it wasn't their turn. My daughter being a bit of the drama queen lets her brother know quite often in "subtle" ways that she does not wan...

Award Winning ClassDojo Helps Communicate Your Student's Class Progress

When I was a kid going to school, the communication between my teachers and parents primarily consisted of notes and memo’s going back and forth in my folder. Even when my oldest son (currently 22) was in school, we continued with the same type of communication. It wasn’t until he was in high school where we had the updated option to email his teachers directly. Now I have five children in school and just making time to look in their daily folders is a chore. While hard copies of memo’s and reports are still fine and much needed reminders, their school uses a great mobile app to help keep us up to date on their status and their behavior. The app is called ClassDojo . ClassDojo [ Website | Twitter | Facebook ] is a classroom communication platform for teachers, parents and students. Primarily it is used to track behavior in the classroom and communicate the results to parents. Launched in August 2011, ClassDojo is used in 90 percent of K-8...

Man of Steel

So MaddSkillz had to do a project for class. He had to take a painting by someone, anyone, doesn't matter and then recreate it with himself as the focus. All without photoshop. So he chose a painting entitled "Man of Steel" by Mel Ramos. So he [read "WE"] had to make it work. Again, all without photoshop. Here's what we finished.... I think it came out pretty dang good. We used candle motives as the rivets insulation board for the hull. The cracks in our hull were due to it being windy the night we bought the board and it folded in half on us. Sure we didn't take MaddSkillz height into proportion with the size of the hull, but he should get a close to perfect grade if you ask me. Oh, and a Superman costume does not come with a yellow belt, so that "belt" is a yellow shirt belonging to MaddSkillz held together in the back with duct tape, with sharpie as the "buckle". I know I haven't posted in forever, but thought my three rea...
