As most of you know, I left Gotham, settled down and had a butt load of kids. Four of those butt loads happen to be girls. I really didn't care about girl super heroes prior to having daughters. I always looked at them as lesser, quota filling characters in order to make the girl nerds happy. Well my views have changed now. I don't see my daughters as quota filling kids, and I shouldn't look at any female character they look up to any different than their male counterparts. The thing is, there's not a plethora of female lead super hero shows.
If your kids are looking for action-packed girl power, look no further than DC Super Hero Girls [website | youtube]. DC Entertainment’s latest animated series features a dynamic group of Super Heroes on their journey of discovering the power of their unique abilities and friendships. What I love is how dynamic the characters are, from strong and fearless to edgy and fun; there is a character for everyone.
